What's new in Nordmount Planner
2026-09-21
New
- The article list can be downloaded as a ready-made CSV file from the report. Article titles containing quotation marks no longer break the columns, special characters open correctly in Excel, and the file always gets a
.csv extension
- Planner notifications now stack instead of replacing one another, and you get a confirmation when a panel-group calculation finishes and when project settings are saved
Improved
- Panel-group calculations are much faster: roughly a third of the previous time overall, and up to ten times faster on large flat/low-slope roofs, with identical results. Report calculations run in parallel, and the calculation service is warmed up as soon as you open a project, so the first calculation after a quiet period no longer stalls
- The planner starts faster: the first page load is about 460 kB lighter and calculation responses are compressed (a 1 225-panel result shrinks from 357 kB to 14 kB)
- Dragging, resizing and zooming panel groups is smoother: rapid changes within one second are combined into a single recalculation, panel labels are hidden when zoomed out too far to read, and far less is redrawn on every change
- The report page loads its data once instead of twice
- French interface: the 30 missing translations for the flat-roof system, load notes, report disclaimers and navigation are now in place instead of falling back to English keys
Fixed
- Expanding a news item on the start page no longer cuts its text short. The section now grows with whatever is inside it, including pictures that finish loading after it has been opened
- Corrected the wind-load zoning of flat/low-slope panel groups. Panels along the edge of a group, and panels next to a gap left by a disabled panel, were partly counted as interior, which under-stated their wind load — in one reported case by over 20 %. Groups split into several parts, or with disabled panels along the whole edge, are also zoned correctly now. Affected projects show higher wind loads and ballast when recalculated
- A failed panel-group calculation is now shown as an error that stays until you dismiss it, instead of quietly showing "done" over stale numbers or producing a report where the group needs no fasteners and no ballast
- Panel groups keep their outlines when a saved project is reopened
- PDF report timestamps are shown in your own time zone with an explicit zone label (for example
2026-07-01 09:05 GMT+2), and minutes are always two digits
2026-08-25
- A quiet release — behind-the-scenes improvements to keep the planner running smoothly.
2026-06-26
New
- France is now a supported country with full climate-based load calculations using French building standards (NF EN 1991 for snow and wind)
- Snow load calculations for France account for elevation: above 200 m, snow loads increase progressively, with higher rates in alpine zones above 1000 m
- French language support for the planner interface and PDF reports
- France-specific terrain type categories (0, II, IIIa, IIIb, IV) with corresponding wind calculation parameters
- Interactive elevation indicator in project setup warns when French projects exceed 200 m and shows the elevation-based snow load surcharge that will apply
Improved
- Terrain type labels and safety information in reports now adapt to the project country, displaying the correct nomenclature and standards for each region

New
- Public changelog page showing all release notes alongside a footer link to browse the release history
- Panel groups automatically reconfigure when you change a roof's system type, keeping panel layouts consistent
- Stabilizer cross-rails automatically added to edges of selected low-slope installation types for structural integrity
- Flat-system rails and clips are now included in the material list alongside ballast and fasteners
- Ballast configurations validate to prevent zero-weight systems, with warnings when ballast stones are not configured
- Ballast stones are now distributed in even counts across rails for easier and more balanced installation
Improved
- Ballast calculations for low-slope systems are more efficient: minimum margin ballast reduced from 28 kg to 14 kg, minimum corner ballast reduced from 40 kg to 28 kg
- Climate loads only recalculate when your project location actually changes, improving performance
- Drawing background improved with a smoother dot grid
Fixed
- Panel width and height now display correctly in reports and configuration forms, regardless of roof orientation
- Ballast stone calculations now choose the most efficient combination — for example, 14 kg of ballast is now installed as a single 14 kg stone instead of two 7 kg stones
- Reports no longer fail to generate when ballast stone weights are not configured
- Ballast-optimization note only appears when stone weight exceeds the calculated requirement, reducing unnecessary alerts
- Stabilizer cross-rails now correctly include ballast weight in load calculations

New
- Support for flat roof systems: choose the new "Flat" system type when adding a roof to plan ballast-mounted installations, with automatic rail, ballast and material calculations shown on the plan, in blueprints and in reports (panel width is limited to 600–1800 mm for flat systems)
- Ballast on flat systems is calculated and labelled per rail piece, both in the planner and on blueprints, and stabilizer cross-rails are always included since they physically carry the ballast stones (with a minimum of 14 kg per cross-rail piece in the margin zone)
- Flat-system rails and clips are now included in the material list
Improved
- The report only shows the assembly instructions section when there are instructions to show
Fixed
- Reports no longer fail to generate when no ballast stone weights are configured, and the ballast-optimization note now only appears when the installed stone weight actually exceeds the calculated requirement
